HOME ENHANCING AQUARIUMS
You can have many decoration pieces in your home but a home aquarium will stand out among all of them if you have one. There are two types of home aquariums, salt water aquariums and fresh water or tropical aquariums. Freshwater ones are mostly preferred over the other ones. This is because of the easy availability of tropical fish. They are present in tropical rainforests, swamps and rice fields as well.
The tropical fish are popular because of their bright colours. They are also very active. The maintenance needed for tropical aquariums is far less than any other aquarium. When you are adding fish to it, make sure that you have fish which keep the tank clean such as shark or catfish that swim closer to the base and help in keeping the aquarium clean.
Make sure that your aquarium is not too crowded. Only keep the number of fish that are easily accommodated. If you have tropical fish in your aquarium, keep the ratio of fish to the tank space one is to four.
In apartments, most of the times you’re not allowed to keep pets because of cleanliness issue. But you should be happy to know that fish are not considered as pets as they do not involve much maintenance.
You can also get your home aquarium fitted onto a wall. This will be a kind of a moving picture. It should be noted, however that this will require more maintenance than any other type of aquarium. You can also vary the amount and type of lighting that you have in your aquarium. The light shouldn’t be too bright as fish are not very comfortable that way. It should be, however good enough for you to see the fish moving around.
