I need some cool ideas for my fish tank!?
I have semi-agressive non-Tropical Fish…zebra barbs, silver dollar fish, a kissing fish….all in a 10 gal tank. I want a simple but cool theme. I dont want pirates cuz thats over done and I dont want cartoon-ey themes like sponge bob or the little mermaid. I want it to look like a grown-up owns the tank, lol.
well, theres only one zebra barb and i think my tank may be 20 gal, but whatever its size, im still wanting to upgrade to a bigger one
Go with a more realistic look, its much more comfortable and less stressful for the fish.
Get 3-4 rocks from outside and rinse them off in hot water, no soap!! then put them into a pan and boil them for 20-30 minutes and take them out and let them dry and cool for about 15-20 mins , then let them boil again for 10-20 mins let them dry and cool for 10 mins- make sure that they aren’t hot when you put them in the tank after that you can put them in your fish tank.
Make sure you have real plants and bubblers, that makes it even more nice for the fish, you can also get a background and stick it on the outside back of the tank, that will give it a very realistic feel.
Make many hiding places but also make sure there is plenty of space for the fish to swim.
You can put fake plants in too if you don’t want to worry about the small maintenance that is required for real plants.
Make sure you have a decent filter, they are only 20 bucks for a good one.
And you can get ornaments like sunken ships and castles, they love to play in those.
You might want to think about getting a pleco to keep the algae level down, but remember they poop alot and some get over 2 feet long.
