Feeding Tropical Fish

Breeding Tropical Fish In A Laid-back Way
Angelfish is one of the most popular tropical fish in the world. Being an expert in breeding angelfish is the first step to becoming an experienced fish breeder. You will find some simple steps on how to breed this species in this article.
Angelfish can have many colors: silvers, blushers and leopards are just some of the most popular types. You can feed only this species in your tank and still have a tank full of diverse colored fish.
For a tank of 33 gallons, you should house about six juveniles. The bottom should be left bare with no decoration. The pH level is 7 and the temperature should be set at 80f. There are many kinds of food you can use to feed angels: bloodworms, flakes and beef heart mixture.
When the angels become six to eight months old, they may begin looking for a mate. Once an angel has found its mate, it may become arrogant and start defending its territory. When you are sure that you have a pair, separate them from the rest by moving them to another tank. The new tank should be no more than 20 gallon. A spawning site should be prepared in advance as well.
The perfect temperature for breeding is 82 degrees. You should see the belly of one of your fish begin to swell within five to eight days. This is the sign of a female. You will see the papilla on both of your fish within the next few days. The papilla of the male is much smaller than that of the female. Once the female begin to lay eggs, you should not disturb the tank.
Prepare a notebook and take note which one lays eggs and which one fertilizes. Once the eggs turn white, you can be sure that the spawning process has been successful. If it has not, you should try again until you succeed.
The parents should be left with the fry for the first few days to tend it. The eggs will take about two to three days to hatch. This depends on the temperature of your tank. The newly hatched fry first wiggle for a few days and then freely swim throughout the tank. You can begin feeding the fry with micro worms.
You should allow the parents to stay with the newly hatched fry for the first few days. Then you should remove the parents and begin feeding and breeding the angels from the beginning. Angelfish can be very demanding so you have to be patient and try every possible technique. This is one of the most popular tropical fish and they are extremely friendly to humans.

Grid Feeding Clip $2.19 The Feeding Frenzy Grid Feeding Clip is the perfect tool for feeding Marine Butterfly fish and other picky or delicate feeding marine tropical. In the their natural coral reef environment, Marine Butterfly fish, Angels, Tangs and many others feed by picking throughout the day on surfaces of coral heads and live rocks. The Grid Feeding Clip helps to duplicate this natural feeding behavior by holding food intact and prolonging the feeding process so that fish are not forced to eat their entire day’s food in a five-minute rush. It also allows your fish to feed in this natural picking manner rather than eating food floating in the water column. Fish with protruding snouts can actually pick pieces of food right through the openings of the plastic grid until the entire portion of food is devoured. This process prolongs the feeding period up to one hour and allows for much greater enjoyment for the hobbyist who wishes to observe this more natural feeding behavior. |
